South Gippsland Classic
Sat Feb 9	Yarram's section of the "South Gippsland Classic". A nine day golf tournament held at nine different golf clubs in Gippsland
Mikes Supa IGA plus Liquor Yarram Pro Am
Feb 16th	A pro am tournament where amateurs have the opportunity to mix it with young professionals. Each group is guarranteed to have at least one professional player who will offer advice to the amateur as well as compete for a $10,000 purse and the chance to win a Lancer car for a hole in one on the first hole. Amateurs have an opportunity to win $500 for a hole in one on the 15th hole.

Opera Australia’s Carmen set to seduce audiences in YARRAM
Wednesday 12th. at 6.30 pm. FREE ENTRY	Opera Australia and the Australian Film Commission are presenting the first live transmission of an opera from the Sydney Opera House to regional cinemas across Australia. Opera Australia’s new production of Carmen will be transmitted via satellite from the Sydney Opera House Opera Theatre & will screen at The Regent Theatre, 210 Commercial Road, Yarram from 6.30pm. Contact the cinema on 03 5182 5420 for more ticketing information. Carmen is Bizet's best-known opera, and one of the most popular operas of all time. It was first performed in 1875 and has been a central part of the operatic repertoire ever since. Don’t miss out on this very special free live event.
Tarra Festival 2008 - "Hip, Hop, Wiggle & Shake"

The Victorian Veteran Golfers Association Eastern Zone 2 day Championship
Mon 3rd & Tue 4th	Victorian Vet golfers travel from all over the state to participate in this event that offers generous prizes.

Yarram and District Traders End of Financial Year Market Day
Mon 30th June	Main Street Market
Yarram Tournament
Fri 6th-9th	A four day event where individual golf, mixed golf, and medley golf games are offered where substanial prizes are up for grabs. Golfers from all over Gippsland generally patronize this event with a number of Melboureites who take part in this annual event.

AUGUST
Eistedford
4th to 11th	at the Yarram Regent Theatre

NOVEMBER
Yarram Weekend of Golf
Sat 1st to Tue 4th	A tournament that draws regular crowds of golfers, fills the town and culminates with a champagne breakfast on cup day with sweeps and a mixed Ambrose game of golf. Ambrose allows non handicapped players to participate, and introduces new players to the game. Serious prizes are offered to the handicapped players who take part in this tournament.
